Education is an invaluable tool for sustainability

Staying Informed

Education is a Powerful Weapon

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. – Margaret Mead

According to the UCLA Extension, “Sustainable practices support ecological, human, and economic health and vitality. Sustainability presumes that resources are finite, and should be used conservatively and wisely with a view to long-term priorities and consequences of the ways in which resources are used. In simplest terms, sustainability is about our children and our grandchildren, and the world we will leave them.”

Sustainability can be a complex concept. But as Nelson Mandela once remarked, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

This section of HC-Sustainable is designed to provide visitors with that powerful weapon to better understand sustainability and the environmental changes occurring all around us. For only then can citizens help change their world – their jobs, their communities, their schools, their homes.

Our Blog Posts cover a wide range of topics with the underlying theme of sustainability. They not only pull from the headlines relating to today’s environmental challenges, they also encourage new perspectives on old ideologies.

Our FAQ Page helps answer common questions so that you and your organization can make educated decisions when it pertains to the sustainable organizations you do business with.

Finally, our Collateral Page offers videos, whitepapers and other downloadable information to better understand sustainable fiber solutions and their impacts.
